The Avant car reservation system enables an easy and quick reservation of a vehicle in Slovenia and abroad. By entering your details, you will receive immediate information about the price of rental for the selected vehicle even before you confirm your reservation. In the shortest time possible, you will receive a reply by email with a confirmation number that you can use in case you need to modify your reservation.
The Avant car reservation system enables reservation of a vehicle group, not a specific vehicle brand. When you are choosing a vehicle in our reservation system, each vehicle type is marked by the “or similar” designation, meaning that you will receive a vehicle from the group that you have selected.
Only in case of timely agreement and under the condition that the selected vehicle is free for the full rental period. Avant car reserves the right to confirm the selected vehicle for use by the lessee only a few days before vehicle pick-up.
In order to modify an existing reservation, enter your confirmation number into the Avant car reservation system and select the modification procedure button.

If you want to cancel your vehicle reservation, enter your confirmation number into the Avant car reservation system and select the cancellation procedure button.
You can also cancel the reservation by sending an email to avantcar@avantcar.si or a fax to +386 1 589 0852.
Avant car does not charge any cancellation fee if the lessee cancels the vehicle reservation within the acceptable period of notice, i.e. at least 7 days before the agreed date of vehicle pick-up.

Yes, if you return your rented vehicle before the agreed upon deadline, the price of the rental is modified in accordance with the shorter rental period.
If you want to extend a vehicle rental, you must notify Avant car at least 24 hours before the expiry of lease contract to obtain their consent. Extension may be carried out in any Avant car branch office in Slovenia. The person who picks up the vehicle and extends the contract thus becomes personally responsible for the payment of rent, along with the person, company or organisation, on behalf of which he/she has picked up the vehicle.
No. Avant car only offers rental of vehicle with chauffeur, and not the rental of chauffeur alone.
Avant car is constantly renewing its fleet. All vehicles are younger than one year.
Yes. Drivers, who are younger than 21 years and older than 18 years with a driver’s license without penalty points are charged an additional young driver fee in accordance with the valid pricelist.
You can. If you have had your driver’s license for less than 2 years, Avant car charges you with an additional young driver fee in accordance with the valid pricelist.
With a category B license, you can drive motor vehicles with a maximum authorised mass not exceeding 3500kg and with no more than 8 seats in addition to the driver's seat.
No, a rented vehicle may only be driven by a driver who is indicated in the lease contract. If other drivers also intend to drive the vehicle, it is necessary to additionally include them in the lease contract as additional drivers upon pick-up of the vehicle. They must meet all terms and conditions of Avant car regarding age and driver’s license, which they must present upon vehicle pick-up. The cost for additional drivers is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
The rented vehicle may be driven by those additional drivers who are indicated in the lease contract. They must meet all terms and conditions of Avant car regarding the age and driver’s license, which they must present prior to vehicle rental. The cost for additional drivers is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
It is not necessary for the additional driver to be personally present upon vehicle pick-up. The lessee (signatory of the lease contract) must submit photocopies of the additional driver’s documents. You can get more information about the terms for additional drivers in the Rent-a-Car Guide.
You may only rent a vehicle if the lease contract is signed by the real lessee, who is also responsible for the rented vehicle.
No. The rented vehicle may not be used for pulling a trailer or another vehicle.
The rented vehicle may not be used outside public roads (motorways, expressways, main roads, regional roads and local roads) I, II and III.
No. The rented vehicle may not be used for participating in any car racing or other sports competition or car testing.
A lessee may rent a vehicle with a limited or unlimited number of kilometres travelled per day. In case of limited rental, the price of rental includes the cost of distance travelled up to 100km per day, while the cost of additional kilometres is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
Yes. For driving a rented vehicle outside Slovenia, you have to obtain written consent from Avant car. If the rented vehicle remains abroad overnight, you are obliged to park it in a hotel or other secured garage.
In the rented vehicle, you may only transport small pets in accordance with the Road Traffic Safety Act (ZVCP) and Animal Protection Act (ZZViv). Small pets may only be transported if they are secured in specially adapted cages for transporting small pets.
No, smoking is not allowed in the rented vehicles.
During working hours, Avant car offers free delivery or pick-up of vehicle up to 10 km from the branch office. If it is necessary to deliver or pick up the vehicle at a more distant location, the cost of delivery is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
Upon pick-up, you must present a valid personal identification document, driver’s license and credit card, by which it is possible to provide for preauthorisation or reservation of funds in the amount of rental and deductible franchise. For renting a vehicle from a higher price class (class F, P, L, X), you have to present two credit cards to insure the rental.

You may pick up the vehicle outside the working hours of a branch office, however you will be charged with an additional fee, since we have to provide for the presence of an employee upon pick-up.
In the case that you deliver the vehicle outside working hours and there is no branch office employee present, you may deposit the car keys in a special box at the entry to the branch office. You will be held entirely responsible for the condition of the rented vehicle until the beginning of the official working hours of the branch office.
Yes. This involves a one-way rental: “I pick up here and deliver there”. For a one-way rental between the branch offices in Slovenia lasting more than 3 days, we do not charge an additional fee. In case of rental shorter than 3 days, a one-way rental is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
You can. If you do not deliver the vehicle to an Avant car branch office, you may leave it at an agreed upon location. Avant car provides for the return of the vehicle to its branch office, while you are charged for the cost of a one-way rental in accordance with the valid pricelist.
In addition to renting a vehicle, you may also rent the following additional equipment: child seat, GPS navigation system, magnetic storage rack for skis, etc. Rental of additional equipment is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
Yes, Avant car provides for the rental of a GPS navigation system. Rental of a GPS system is charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
Yes. This involves some higher category vehicles. Upon vehicle reservation, check which equipment is already installed in the selected vehicle.
Our GPS systems cover all European Union countries, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Yes. Upon pick-up, the lessee checks the vehicle along with an Avant car employee and confirms the vehicle condition by signing the pick-up record. Thus, he/she avoids any inconvenience that may arise if eventual damage is caused during vehicle rental.
Every rented vehicle is equipped with legally prescribed equipment and other belongings (first aid, safety triangle and vest, spare wheel, basic tools, set of light bulbs and other legally required equipment). The vehicle is registered and equipped with original identification documents, green card as well as the photocopies of type-approval and insurance policy, the originals of which can be viewed at the head office of Avant car.
Yes, every rented vehicle is equipped with a green card.
No, every rented vehicle is equipped with a green card that is already included in the price of vehicle rental.
Yes, all rental vehicles are equipped with a toll sticker – a vignette. The compensation for the use of a vignette is additionally charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
In case of driving abroad, the lessee must provide for toll payment on his/her own, as applicable in the relevant foreign country. If a vignette is required in the relevant foreign country, the lessee has to provide it on his/her own.
All vehicles in the Avant car fleet are equipped with air-conditioning.
Yes. Avant car checks the returned vehicle. The lessee is obliged to deliver the vehicle in a condition, where normal use of vehicle is considered, that is technically fault-free, properly maintained, with full tank of fuel, clean, clear of belongings and entirely prepared for normal use, with all pertaining equipment, belongings and documentation.
No, in this case Avant car does not approve a discount. The mentioned achievement may be used when insuring your own vehicle.
Fuel is not included in the price of rental. You pick up a vehicle with a full tank of fuel and must return it in the same condition. Otherwise, you have to pay for the missing fuel and the costs of refilling the tank in accordance with the valid pricelist.
IWe also offer the possibility of prepaying for your fuel, meaning that, upon pick-up, you purchase a tank of fuel at the regular market price. In this way, you can avoid the inconveniences and time loss due to the search for gas stations upon vehicle delivery. This way a vehicle with an empty fuel tank may be delivered without any additional payment fee.
Avant car requires a credit card in order to insure the rental. It is used for preauthorisation, i.e. the reservation of funds in the amount of rental and deductible franchise.
Upon preauthorisation, Avant car reserves the funds on your credit card in the amount of rental and deductible franchise. The deadline for releasing the funds is dependant upon the manner of business operation of the bank of the credit card owner. Make an inquiry at your bank regarding the deadlines for releasing the reserved funds.
In this case, it is not possible to rent a vehicle.
Rental may be paid by Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard, Diners and American Express credit cards.
Avant car accepts a debit card as a non-cash payment method at the end of rental. Upon vehicle pick-up, the lessee must still present a credit card to reserve the funds on the card in the amount of rental and deductible franchise.
At the end of rental, physical entities can pay for vehicle rental in cash. Upon vehicle pick-up, the lessee must still present a credit card to reserve the funds on the card in the amount of rental and deductible franchise.
Rental may be paid by Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard, Diners and American Express credit cards. Physical entities can also pay for vehicle rental in cash, as long as they have previously presented a credit card required for insuring the rental.
At the end of rental and payment, you will receive the original receipt. For a photocopy of the receipt, please contact our Customer Support Centre.
Minimum length of rental is 24 hours. If the lessee exceeds the agreed upon period of time, Avant car does not charge for the first 59 minutes, however, every 24 hours initiated after this period is charged in the amount of daily rental in accordance with the valid pricelist. For legal and insurance reasons, the lease contract has to be completed when the vehicle is delivered.
This involves an international one-way rental. Our vehicles are not rented out by the international offices. Therefore, Avant car has to provide for the return of the vehicle to Slovenia. The amount of the lessee’s additional payment fee covers the service of returning the vehicle from abroad to Slovenia, which is why the fee is dependant upon the location where the vehicle has been delivered by the lessee.
The price of vehicle rental only includes the rental of vehicle and all insurances, while an additional driver or additional equipment only represent possible options for rental according to the lessee.
Effective from 1 July 2008, all rental vehicles are equipped with a toll sticker – a vignette. The compensation for the use of the vignette is additionally charged in accordance with the valid pricelist.
All Avant car vehicles have basic and full-coverage (Kasko) insurance, including car driver insurance (AO+). The vehicle is only insured for the period of lease contract validity.

No. Personal belongings of persons inside a rented vehicle are not insured.
Yes, if the lessee proves that the injury was caused by vandalism.
If a vehicle is driven by an unauthorised person, the insurance of the rented vehicle is invalid. The lessee becomes entirely responsible for any damage caused.
The insurance of the rented vehicle covers the cost of glass damage as well.
In the case of any damage, wreckage, confiscation or theft of the vehicle or if the vehicle is involved in any traffic accident, you are obliged to immediately notify Avant car as well as to report the case to the police.

If you lose you car keys, you are obliged to notify Avant car, who will provide further instructions on the basis of information received. Avant car charges for the cost of lost objects in accordance with the valid pricelist.

A green card is an international certificate regarding car liability insurance, guaranteeing insurance coverage in the extent as defined by the respective act on compulsory motor third-party liability in the visited country.
An international driver’s license is a document that is officially recognised by the Organisation of United Nations. It is accepted in almost 120 countries of the world. In some countries it is required, while in some it is not necessary at all. It is recommended for many countries, while in some countries it is only required for certain nationalities. In any case, it represents a convenient document everywhere abroad, helping the driver – even if the country does not demand it – at police checks, traffic violations and traffic accidents, since it frequently makes formalities easier and speeds up the process. An international driver’s license is actually a translation of a national driver’s license, which is why the drivers abroad must also have their valid national driver’s license in addition to the international one!
Yes, the use of a reflective vest is mandatory in Slovenia when exiting the vehicle on a motorway or expressway. All Avant car vehicles are equipped with a reflective vest stored in the glove compartment.
In Slovenia, it is prohibited to turn right when the traffic light is red.
